Project Life Tuesday ~ 21 May 13

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

Hope your week is treating you well – so far so good for us here.

It’s time for another update on my Project Life pages…

A little background

The Mom CreativeThis year, I’m doing my Project Life album digitally. I’m using Creative Memories’ Storybook Creator software and Becky Higgins’ Turquoise Edition (for the most part)  I’ve also purchased these nifty little overlays that allow my pages to look like true pocket pages (I’m loving them).

I’m planning to print my pages as a book – hopefully, it will all fit in one volume and take up less space on the shelf than the 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 versions which are 2 volumes (2 3” binders) each!

This week’s pages

2013 Family Album - Page 020

Journaling reads:

We spent Spring Break at Mom’s house.  SuperMan came down for the weekend and then went back to work at Plant Jack for a shutdown. While we were shopping at Sam’s they had beautiful strawberries so we decided to teach the girls to make strawberry jam. We had such fun making it and by the time we were finished, we’d already had offers from friends to purchase the fruits of the girls’ labors!

And the right side:

Journaling reads:

A fun week and weekend ~ On Saturday SuperMan, Big Girl and I went to River Street for a few hours. We ate lunch at Spanky’s and walked along the river like tourists. On Sunday, the girls hunted for the eggs they’d dyed the day before ~ bittersweet as this might be the last Easer Egg Hunt they decide to do (they’re growing up!) The silly pictures I found on my phone after we got home ~ that’s what I get for letting them “play” on my phone while we are waiting in the restaurants. Later in the week, Big Girl and I got pedicures ~ her first since her surgery. Overall, a very relaxing and pleasant Spring Break week.

More pages coming soon – I’m on a roll!!

Four

FOUR MORE DAYS

ONLY

FOUR.

MORE.

DAYS.

I can hardly wait!!

Four more days until the girls are out of school for the summer.

It’s almost like we’re “on hold” right now, waiting for the 24th to arrive.  Even though the next week or two after that won’t exactly be slowing down, there’s that milestone looming for us, and mentally, it’s pretty much our sole focus right now.

Once we get past school, we’ve got the holiday weekend, dance rehearsals & recitals and then my annual trip to HQ for work, which means “Ammi Camp” for the girls.  So, the next four weeks or so are busy ones.  But just being over the hurdle of school (and those early-morning wakeup calls) will be major for us.

SuperMan has a busy week this week, too, so I’m planning easy things for dinner for us – less stress and less mess. Always a good thing.

mealplanmonday_v1

Here’s what’s on our menu plan:

Monday: Soft Tacos & Warm Bean dip Friday: Asian chicken stir fry with rice
Tuesday: Bourbon chicken & rice with veggies Saturday: something grilled
Wednesday: homemade chicken fingers (I’ve been craving this and haven’t made it yet) Sunday: eat out
Thursday: Salads & Baked Potato Other options:

What’re you planning this week?

The journaling reads:

Spring is springing and one of the ways we can tell is that, for the first time ever, the farmer has transformed the hay bales into bunny rabbits! We are so excited. * One of our new traditions is homemade pizzas on Friday nights * My latest snack obsession are these “protein bites” that are made from oatmeal, honey, peanut butter and coconut. They are SO good. * My latest crochet project is this beautiful afghan I’m hoping to make for the living room.

And the right side page:

Top journaling:

Taking advantage of his time off of work, Rob decided to paint for me. He spent the better part of the week painting the foyer, kitchen, stairs and landing. My SuperMan!

Bottom journaling:

Very interesting fortune cookie at dinner and even funnier text with my boss the next day ~ hee hee!

Love my little one’s Visitor’s Day at dance – one of the highlights of the year. I love to see how much progress she’s made since the beginning of the year – and then again between Visitor’s Day and recital day two months later.

What about you?

How are your Project Life pages coming along?

I had hoped to get more pages done over the past weekend because of International Scrapbook Day, but I was sick over the weekend and really didn’t feel like doing much more than just sitting still.  Sigh.

But I DID get some pages done – continuing to work my way through 2013 and hopefully get caught up soon.

2013 Family Album - Page 016

The journal cards are from Juli Fish: You Make Me Happy ~ I can’t find the download link anymore.

The other bits and bobs were from another kit  that came from The Daily Digi as part of the monthly kit. I love it.  Happy, happy stuff.

2013 Family Album - Page 017

I like the pages – I think they capture the fun of that week.  And I love that everyone in the family is in the pictures.

Making progress here – I’m into March with these pages.  The good news is that I’m catching up but that is partly because (the bad news) I don’t have a lot of pictures from Feb/March. I think it is because it was so cold and rainy during that time.  I just didn’t have the drive to take a lot of photos – and we weren’t doing much other than school and work!

2013 Family Album - Page 014

Embellishments from the page above are from Creative Memories’ Cheerful Winter Digital kit.

Love how the blues and greens tied in with the colors on the pictures.

I decided to use the blurry cell phone picture of the girls because it was so cute – them cuddled up by the fireplace with their laptops.

2013 Family Album - Page 015

Becky Higgins’ Turquoise kit for this page – kept it simple as the pictures were simple, too.

Love my sweet baby’s happy smile about her teacher’s blanket and capturing her sign language performance.

That’s it for my Project Life pages this week – what about yours?

These two are from the middle of February-

Keeping it simple and getting it done. That’s the theme for these pages.

Even though they’re simple, I like them. I like the bright pops of color and the way the pictures capture the “everydayness” of those weeks in February. Nothing fancy, but it’s real life.

Project Life Tuesday ~ 12 Feb 13

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday! The Mom Creative

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration!

This year, I’m doing a digital version of Project Life. I’m using (mostly) the Turquoise Edition of Project Life supplemented by some other digital kits as they strike my fancy from week to week. I’m also planning to purchase the digital versions of a few of the new Project Life kits that were launched at the trade shows this winter (as soon as they’re available in the spring) to mix things up a bit for the year.  I have found, in doing this for three years now, that I get bored with the same kit from week to week and I like doing things differently to suit the mood of the photos for the week (or my mood as I’m scrapping them!)

This past weekend I decided to get started on my 2013 pages – It’s already mid-February and although I’ve still not finished 2012, I figured I didn’t want to get any more behind on 2013 and then be so overwhelmed I wanted to quit altogether! I’ll try to do one 2012 page spread and one 2013 page spread each weekend. Maybe that way I’ll get caught up and not any more behind than I already am!

I started my 2013 cover page:

2013 Family Album - Page 001

I didn’t want to fill all the slots, though. I want to put some family pictures here and I usually like to use my favorites from the year on the cover page.  This one of the girls with their cousins I absolutely love, so it had to go on the front page.

And here’s the first two-page spread of the year:

2013 Family Album - Page 002

The last week of 2012/first week of 2013 – still hanging out with my brother and his family at Mom’s house. I love, love, love these pictures. They really capture our visit – lots of smiles and lots of fun times together.

How about you? How’s your 2013 memory keeping going?

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!

I’m using the Clementine Edition of the Project Life kitoffered by Becky Higgins, supplemented by some digital extras and using up the random bits I have from twelve-plus years of scrapbooking. Some weeks are more digital than others and some weeks are full of frills and furbelows. It just depends on my mood.

This week was all about the birthday girl, so I focused most of my pictures and decorations on that theme. I used a little ribbon and washi tape to add some other elements and most of my journaling was directly on the pictures with the exception of the weekly recap, which I did on a homemade journal card (digitally).

So, without further chatter, here are the pages – (there are four of them because I had so many birthday pictures)

Project Life Tuesday ~ 16 July

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration! The Mom Creative

This week’s post continues to show my catching up on June’s pages. I have the last week of June to share and this past week. The only week I’m lacking at this point is the week of July 1st, which I am waiting to work on because I am trying to decide WHAT I want to do there. I have a mini-album to complete for that mini-vacation and I’m trying to decide what pictures I’ll duplicate in the Project Life album. I’m not one of those who won’t duplicate pages or layouts, but I think I want to tell the whole story in the mini-album and then just pick some highlights to put on the Project Life spread.

I was hoping to work on the mini album last weekend, but just didn’t have the creative mojo to get started. I spent a little time Monday afternoon working on some crafty things to sort of get things jump-started so that I can (hopefully) get my mini album started.

Anyway, here are the pages I have for you this week – (remember, you can click on an image to see it larger)

June 25-July 1

And then moving on to the July pages…

July 9-15:

img_1808

The left side:

I made the date card digitally, using a background paper resized to 4×6 and then added the date and a “sticker” that said “moments.” I like how it turned out.

I had so many pictures (over 20!) for last week – which is surprising since it was a pretty quiet week. So I made use of a lot of journaling on photos and a smaller weekly recap card.

img_1809

The right side:

I had to take a picture of the girls’ excellent bowling scores. I couldn’t resist.

And used some digital washi tape on the Lenny’s picture.  I also used digital elements on most of the other pictures on this page.

Project Life Tuesday ~ 10 July

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!

Some weeks are more digital than others and some weeks are full of frills and furbelows. It just depends on my mood.

Still catching up on my Project Life pages. These are from June. I think I will be completely caught up this weekend, but it will depend on what activities we have going on as I’m about two weeks behind as of right now. I’m not worried, though; I feel like I have a good handle on things.

Without further chatter, here are the pages. Simple and sweet, but most importantly – DONE!  Or mostly done, anyway. I have a few slots to fill with some journaling or extras, but they are 90% done.

Week of June 10:

img_1788

Left Page:

img_1782

I still need to do something on that ruled card, but not sure what I want to do there yet and that “Live Love Laugh” is the back of the card in the previous page, but I liked it so I left it, even though the end letters are cut off.

Right page:

img_1783

I made my own title card from some paper I had (I think Storyology?) and my journaling card was a take-off of Cathy Z’s card, but I split my journaling into two 4×3 cards in the smaller pockets.

img_1795

Week of June 18:

img_1792

Still have some filling-in to do here – I think the flowered paper is good, but not sure yet if I’m happy with it, but I don’t have a better idea and it looks better than nothing!

Left Page:

img_1784

Right Page:

img_1793

Again, made my own journal card – used some PL digital papers as the border at the bottom. I liked using the oranges to tie into the card from the play we went to.

And if you made it this far, thank you!

More to come next week!
