Project Life Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been working on my Project Life pages again… so enjoying getting back into this project.

A little background

The Mom Creative

This year, I’m doing my Project Life album digitally. I’m using Creative Memories’ Storybook Creator software and Becky Higgins’ Turquoise Edition (for the most part)  I’ve also purchased these nifty little overlays that allow my pages to look like true pocket pages (I’m loving them).

I’m planning to print my pages as a book – hopefully, it will all fit in one volume and take up less space on the shelf than the 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 versions which are 2 volumes (2 3” binders) each!

This week’s pages

Still catching up from earlier this year, but making progress feels good.  These pages cover the end of January and the first part of February.

I used the January kit from The Lilypad for most of the elements on this page. I just love the pop of color and how it coordinated with all of the other blues and greens on the photos.

I’m also in love with the fonts – one was from Fonts for Peas from Kevin & Amanda.  (Pea Captivatingly is the bold font) And one was from the Digi Files from the Daily Digi, but I found it at The Sweet Shoppe now. I really like the handwriting script.

The last page documented Big Girl’s retreat weekend with her friends from church. She had such a great time – they got to meet Seth Condrey on Saturday night before the evening session.

That’s it for now – slowly but surely I’m making progress.

Project life Tuesday

I managed to get a little scrapbooking done over the weekend and I thought I’d share some of the pages I made with you –

Here’s what I have done so far – I’m terribly behind. I keep hoping to do 2-3 weeks worth of pages per week, but that has not happened yet. BUT, the beauty of Project Life is that I’m not stressing about it. I knocked out these pages in less time than it took to watch a movie on Saturday night (Thor, in case you were wondering – love that Chris Hemsworth!)

Project Life Tuesday ~ 12 Feb 13

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday! The Mom Creative

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration!

This year, I’m doing a digital version of Project Life. I’m using (mostly) the Turquoise Edition of Project Life supplemented by some other digital kits as they strike my fancy from week to week. I’m also planning to purchase the digital versions of a few of the new Project Life kits that were launched at the trade shows this winter (as soon as they’re available in the spring) to mix things up a bit for the year.  I have found, in doing this for three years now, that I get bored with the same kit from week to week and I like doing things differently to suit the mood of the photos for the week (or my mood as I’m scrapping them!)

This past weekend I decided to get started on my 2013 pages – It’s already mid-February and although I’ve still not finished 2012, I figured I didn’t want to get any more behind on 2013 and then be so overwhelmed I wanted to quit altogether! I’ll try to do one 2012 page spread and one 2013 page spread each weekend. Maybe that way I’ll get caught up and not any more behind than I already am!

I started my 2013 cover page:

2013 Family Album - Page 001

I didn’t want to fill all the slots, though. I want to put some family pictures here and I usually like to use my favorites from the year on the cover page.  This one of the girls with their cousins I absolutely love, so it had to go on the front page.

And here’s the first two-page spread of the year:

The last week of 2012/first week of 2013 – still hanging out with my brother and his family at Mom’s house. I love, love, love these pictures. They really capture our visit – lots of smiles and lots of fun times together.

How about you? How’s your 2013 memory keeping going?

Project Life Tuesday

I know, I know – It has been FOREVER since I posted any scrapbooking pictures.

Well, there’s been a good reason for that…

I haven’t been scrapbooking!!

But I fixed all that last weekend – I went out with some girlfriends and spent the evening at Archiver’s doing a little scrapbooking.  We had such a nice time together – just hanging out and relaxing and getting some crafty going.

I didn’t get a TON done, but I did manage to get a few pages completed.  I have decided that since I lost my momentum with my 2012 Project Life album last fall, I’m going to finish the year’s pages digitally.  I am determined to finish them and I figure this will be faster for me than printing and finding time to lay out the pages. I think it’s mostly mental because the digital pages aren’t necessarily faster, but it’s making me happy and that’s what counts, right?

Here are the pages I did on Saturday –

2012 Family Album - Page 0202012 Family Album - Page 021

One of the other things I really like about doing it digitally is that I can do whatever week’s pictures I’m in the mood to work on and not worry about chronology. I can put them in the right order in my scrapbook after printing, but doing it this way I can work in whatever order suits my fancy.

2012 Family Album - Page 0222012 Family Album - Page 023

I also stumbled across this really cool set of templates that I am absolutely in love with –

EBA_PaperMini_PocketLifeSpaces_MKTG_600

There are six different “papers” with the “pockets” for the Project Life layouts. I just plop it on the page and “fill in the blanks” with my pictures and journaling.  You can flip them (rotate) and get even more configurations to use. I love the way they make it look like there are actual pockets on the digital pages. They’re from the Scrap Girls Boutique.

I’m hoping to get a few more pages done this week – little by little I’ll catch up on 2012.

And I’m also going to go ahead and start 2013’s album, which I have decided to do completely digital this year.

How’s your Project Life project going?

Project Life Tuesday (no really!)

I know, I know… I bet you thought I’d quit scrapbooking, didn’t you?The Mom Creative

Well, to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t sure myself. I haven’t felt the urge to scrapbook at all since July. I am not sure whether it was just because life was so busy or what. I had an album project I was working on besides Project Life and I got a little stymied there and it sort of killed my mojo.

I have been thinking for weeks about how sad it would be to not finish Project Life for the rest of the year – to only have January – June captured and then… nothing.  Sad indeed.

But I couldn’t seem to get started. I didn’t want to sort through pictures and piles of paper. I didn’t want to cut and stick and all that stuff.  And then one day I thought, well what about digital? So, I mulled that over for a few days and finally decided that anything was better than nothing and if doing it digitally got me started, it was worth doing.

So, on Saturday afternoon, when it was quiet and I had a few minutes to myself, I sat down and decided to tackle a few pages and see how things went.

I managed to get two weeks done – six pages in all – and I’m pretty pleased with the results.

I think I may just do the rest of the year this way. It’s nice and neat and easy for me to do. I guess I’ll see. Right now, it’s working for me.

So here are the pages:

and, I hope I have some more to share next week!

Project Life Tuesday ~ 24 July

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration! The Mom Creative

I’m using the Clementine Edition of the Project Life kitoffered by Becky Higgins, supplemented by some digital extras and using up the random bits I have from twelve-plus years of scrapbooking. Some weeks are more digital than others and some weeks are full of frills and furbelows. It just depends on my mood.

This week was all about the birthday girl, so I focused most of my pictures and decorations on that theme. I used a little ribbon and washi tape to add some other elements and most of my journaling was directly on the pictures with the exception of the weekly recap, which I did on a homemade journal card (digitally).

So, without further chatter, here are the pages – (there are four of them because I had so many birthday pictures)

Project Life Tuesday ~ 16 July

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration! The Mom Creative

I’m using the Clementine Edition of the Project Life kitoffered by Becky Higgins, supplemented by some digital extras and using up the random bits I have from twelve-plus years of scrapbooking. Some weeks are more digital than others and some weeks are full of frills and furbelows. It just depends on my mood.

This week’s post continues to show my catching up on June’s pages. I have the last week of June to share and this past week. The only week I’m lacking at this point is the week of July 1st, which I am waiting to work on because I am trying to decide WHAT I want to do there. I have a mini-album to complete for that mini-vacation and I’m trying to decide what pictures I’ll duplicate in the Project Life album. I’m not one of those who won’t duplicate pages or layouts, but I think I want to tell the whole story in the mini-album and then just pick some highlights to put on the Project Life spread.

I was hoping to work on the mini album last weekend, but just didn’t have the creative mojo to get started. I spent a little time Monday afternoon working on some crafty things to sort of get things jump-started so that I can (hopefully) get my mini album started.

Anyway, here are the pages I have for you this week – (remember, you can click on an image to see it larger)

And then moving on to the July pages…

July 9-15:

img_1808

The left side:

I made the date card digitally, using a background paper resized to 4×6 and then added the date and a “sticker” that said “moments.” I like how it turned out.

I had so many pictures (over 20!) for last week – which is surprising since it was a pretty quiet week. So I made use of a lot of journaling on photos and a smaller weekly recap card.

The right side:

I had to take a picture of the girls’ excellent bowling scores. I couldn’t resist.

And used some digital washi tape on the Lenny’s picture.  I also used digital elements on most of the other pictures on this page.
