Project Life Tuesday 3.13.12

3.13.12 what a weird number combination.

Don’t know why that struck me strange, but it did…

Anyway…

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday!
The Mom CreativeIf you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration!

The pages are simpler this week and no inserts to share – I have been so busy with work and sick kiddos that the fact that the pages are complete is a major accomplishment for me this week. Still loving the project and being able to stay current with what’s going on in our lives with just a small time investment on Saturday afternoons. I’m guarding that creative time very carefully as it has become a little oasis for me in the midst of a lot of busy-ness in our lives.

Without any further chatter – here are the pages:

(sorry for the shadow – didn’t know it was there when I took the pictures!)

(remember, you can click on the picture to see it larger)

The left side:imgp4042

Using my creative license and filled a journal slot with a little cut piece of the box of muffin mix the girls love and request at least once a week. I also included a picture of my brother and his family that they sent me. They are big skiers and go almost every weekend. So it is only fitting to include that here, I think.

I also made my own journaling card (yay, me!) and thought it turned out pretty well (This week) if I do say so myself.

I am loving using the smaller slots for the cell phone pictures and being able to capture all the little bitty bits of life that way – not being confined to only seven photos a week. I think I am averaging closer to 15 pictures that way.

I also used a nifty new program I discovered for my iPhone – PicFrame – that allows you to fit multiple photos into little bitty frames – which gives you even more options! (eek!)

Here’s one I did on Friday night:img_1126

I love how it turned out – and the program was very easy to figure out. This was my very first attempt.

I just stuck it into a 4×6 picture and added some journaling and another photo beside it… so I got four pictures and journaling all in one 4×6 photo! Pretty cool. (I did that part in PSE, not on the phone)

imgp4043

The rest of the right side page was devoted to our Saturday adventures with our friends – a few stickers on the pictures for embellishments and that was about it – I kept it simple. The story is over on the left side page.

The quote card is from Design House Digital – 2012 Life Blocks by Audrey Neal. Love those.

The little starburst on my journal card is from there, too. Kate Teague – This Life

I can’t recall where the other things are from – mostly freebies, I think.

Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a new favorite recipe with you. Smile

Project Life Tuesday ~ 3.6.12

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday! The Mom Creative If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration!

I have a very photo-heavy post today –  lots of close-ups of the pages – things didn’t seem to show up in the larger pictures as well as I wanted, so I did some close-ups.

I also have a lot of inserts. I included some of the girls’ school work, my monthly calendar for February (from the front of the fridge) and the “formal” picture from the Father-Daughter dance.

Let’s get started:img_1357

Left side ^ with the weekly summary and highlights from the first part of the week.

And here is the page with the other side showing:img_1358

the insert:

I think I’m getting the hang of using Photoshop Elements for my journaling and to make 2 3×4 pictures on a 4×6 paper so I can print them easily at home.

I’ll be back on Thursday with some digital pages that I did last week.

Hello and welcome to Project Life Tuesday! The Mom Creative

If you are stopping by from The Mom Creative, welcome & thanks for clicking over! If you are not, you might want to click over there when you’re done here for some more great Project Life inspiration!

I have two weeks’ worth of pages to show you since I shared pages from 2011 last week.  So, let’s get started.

First we  have the week of January 16:

I have an 8×10 insert in here – with Big Girl’s speech for school on one side:

img_1242

Here is a close-up of the left hand side:img_1241

And the back of the 8×10 and right-side:img_1243

and the close-up of the right side:

img_1244

I’m loving using PSE to create a 4×6 print with 2 4×3 images in it – so I can fit more pictures on the page… and using it to add journaling directly on the photo, like I did for the rock-face picture.

Here’s last week:img_1246

I used a 6×12 insert here (with 3 4×6 sleeves) for a little extra room for pictures and stuff related to the sicknesses that have overtaken our house.

Close-up left:img_1245

and both pages right-side and back of insert:img_1247

And a close up of the right page:

img_1248

That’s all for this week! I don’t know how many pictures I’m going to have next week – I’ve got one still sick and my week so far has consisted of lots of doctor’s offices (which are not fun to take pictures of) I’m sure something will turn up, though.

I’m also adding to my stash:img_1249

Big Girl and I stopped at a local scrapbook store on the way home from the doctor – I got a few pages to use.

Love the Year-ography pages:img_1250

And these cute Jenni Bowlin embellishment/journaling cards:img_1251

and a few other journaling cards:img_1252

I think my “bug” is back… I can’t seem to stop thinking about scrapbooking again!

You can see my other Project Life posts here.

Project Life Tuesday 1.17.12

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

I did a lot of work on my Project Life albums this past weekend. I wasn’t feeling well on Saturday so that was my way to keep quiet and occupy myself. I worked on the 2011 book (It’s almost done) and did my pages for last week in the 2012 book.

I thought I’d share the 2011 pages I worked on this week – a little from October, November & December. I think I am 95% finished with this book. Just a couple of blog posts to print and add to the album and a little journaling to finish. Which is good, because the book is bulging at the seams and I’m kinda tired of looking at it!

2012 is chugging along nicely. I’ll share the pages from last week in another post so this isn’t such a gigantic post.

Anyway, here are the 2011 pages I worked on:img_1178

and a closer view of the two pages: (sorry for the shadows from the window)

img_1179img_1180

more from that weekend and the pumpkin carving:

img_1181img_1182img_1183

Didn’t take many pictures in November, but here are a few…

img_1184

And moving into December:

img_1185img_1186

img_1187

I’m finding I’m using up some of my old stash – like very old Creative Memories’ papers that were from who-knows-when and probably would never get used otherwise – and some random scraps of paper that fit perfectly in these little 3×4 pockets but are not much good on a 12×12 page.  Makes the project much more economical…

Project Life Tuesday ~ 23 August 11

Busy week last week – we are getting in the groove of our school routine and work has been quite busy as well. That has left little time (or brain power) for scrapbooking, photography, etc. Although, I did manage a pretty good scrapping session on Saturday. (You can see the fruits of my labors here.)

I already shared some of last week’s photos with you on some earlier blog posts – but here are a few shots I haven’t shared yet:

Aug-13-21-Project-Life-web

1. Waiting for the Imax movie at Fernbank.
2. Walking on the grounds at Fernbank.
3. Dinner at Papadeaux to celebrate my bonus.
4. Yummy, decadent dessert at Papadeaux.
5-8. Sunday afternoon means baths for puppies
9. Hot, Hot, and more Hot. Ready for Fall.
10-11. Waiting for dinner on Friday. This is what we see now. Faces in screens.

Project Life Tuesday

This week, with it’s holiday on Monday, has my posting schedule a little off.

So, Project Life Tuesday is on Wednesday this week.

Recipes will be coming soon and who knows how I’ll end up the week.

We had an interesting and busy week last week – the last couple days of school, travel to my Mom’s, and some fun adventures while we were down there.

Let’s get this started,shall we?

Monday: “hookey day” and hanging out on the hammock. Little Bit’s fashion for the day.

IMG_0037 How about you? Did you capture any everyday pictures last week?
I’m logging these daily on my other ‘photo only’ blog if you want to take a peek.

It’s a Beautiful Life

I think I’ve mentioned a couple of times that I’m doing Project Life again this year.

image

I just love this format and have actually moved away from doing any other type of scrapbooking. It’s just so easy and so quick and simple.
I love being able to snap one picture a day and capture what’s going on without having to worry if I have enough to fill a 2 page spread, or enough journaling to warrant a scrapbook page. I love saving receipts, schoolwork, and other tidbits from life to include in there. (documenting the price of gas, anyone?)

And with my nifty new toy, ahem, phone, I have this really cool application I’m using: Project365. I can snap my picture with the camera on the phone, add it to the app and have a little snippet of journaling to go with the photo.  I’ve even added to that by pushing the photos up to the web so I can share with others. (I bought the Pro version, by the way)

And, when I have time, I can go back, print the photos, put them in the Project Life album add the journaling and I’m done!

So cool.

I want to share my photos with you guys, too.  But I didn’t want to overwhelm my blog here with the photo-a-day posts. So, I set up a photo-only blog over here.

Snap2

So, anyway, if you want to subscribe to that photo-a-day blog you can.  Or, you can just check occasionally.  I think it would be fun to see other people’s ideas for their photo-a-day projects.  Some days I have tons of ideas, others, I’m struggling with coming up with an idea for ONE photo!!

You can find the link to the blog up in the top right corner of this blog.

Of course, there are some great websites with some ideas: Capture Your 365 is one. I like that she sends daily emails to remind you, although I’ve not used any of her ideas yet.

Becky Higgins’ Facebook page has some great photo-a-day ideas, too. I sat down last night and went through all of hers and jotted them down in a notebook (my lovely little moleskine) that I can carry around to give me inspiration when I need it.

What about you?

Are you doing a photo-a-day project?

What do you do with your pictures?

Share! Share! I’d love to hear some of your ideas…
