Scene: Driving down the highway
Me, to Big Girl, “You know how you feel when your hormones are all crazy…”
“…and you just want to shut yourself in your room and stay away from everyone because everyone makes you want to scream?” says Big Girl.
“Yeah,” I said.
“And you wake up and you feel all happy and the day is going to be just perfect,” chimes in Little Bit from the back seat.
Big Girl and I exchange a knowing glance – that is NOT what we’re talking about.
“Well,” I say to Big Girl, “that is exactly how I feel right now.”
“Me, too, Mommy,” says Little Bit, totally missing the fact that I’m talking to Big Girl. “Isn’t that great!”
sigh.
