Project Life Tuesday ~ 6 May 13

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

Hope your week is treating you well – so far so good for us here. It’s time for another update on my Project Life pages…

A little background

The Mom CreativeThis year, I’m doing my Project Life album digitally. I’m using Creative Memories’ Storybook Creator software and Becky Higgins’ Turquoise Edition (for the most part)  I’ve also purchased these nifty little overlays that allow my pages to look like true pocket pages (I’m loving them).

I’m planning to print my pages as a book – hopefully, it will all fit in one volume and take up less space on the shelf than the 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 versions which are 2 volumes (2 3” binders) each!

This week’s pages

I had hoped to get more pages done over the past weekend because of International Scrapbook Day, but I was sick over the weekend and really didn’t feel like doing much more than just sitting still.  Sigh.

But I DID get some pages done – continuing to work my way through 2013 and hopefully get caught up soon.

The journal cards are from Juli Fish: You Make Me Happy ~ I can’t find the download link anymore.

The other bits and bobs were from another kit  that came from The Daily Digi as part of the monthly kit. I love it.  Happy, happy stuff.

I like the pages – I think they capture the fun of that week.  And I love that everyone in the family is in the pictures.

Happy Tuesday!

I’ve been working on my Project Life pages again… so enjoying getting back into this project.

This week’s pages

Still catching up from earlier this year, but making progress feels good.  These pages cover the end of January and the first part of February.

I used the January kit from The Lilypad for most of the elements on this page. I just love the pop of color and how it coordinated with all of the other blues and greens on the photos.

I’m also in love with the fonts – one was from Fonts for Peas from Kevin & Amanda.  (Pea Captivatingly is the bold font) And one was from the Digi Files from the Daily Digi, but I found it at The Sweet Shoppe now. I really like the handwriting script.

The last page documented Big Girl’s retreat weekend with her friends from church. She had such a great time – they got to meet Seth Condrey on Saturday night before the evening session.

That’s it for now – slowly but surely I’m making progress.

A little progress

I had high hopes of scrapbooking this past week – or at least getting some scrapbooking in during the past three days.  Alas, life did not go according to plan, and neither did my muse.  It just wasn’t in me.

And then, I thought to myself that even though I didn’t “feel creative” I should just sit down and piddle a little with the pictures and see if I got inspired. After all, it’s been months since I’ve scrapbooked and I’m still working on 2010 pictures, for Pete’s sake. (whoever Pete is…)

So, I did just that.

Sat down, opened up my software to see where I’d left off, and before you know it, I’d managed to do six pages! That, along with, feeding kids, retrieving dogs who are escaping their invisible fence, troubleshooting my mom’s email account, answering the phone, well, you get the picture.

The days of quiet solitude while I scrap are long gone.  But, the nice thing about digital scrapbooking is that I can do just that – scrap in between life’s little interruptions. It doesn’t mean I have to put all the mess away, or pray no one bumps my page in progress. Nope, I just hit the “save” button, take care of the urgent matter, and move right along.

Love it.

Anyway, here are the pages I’ve done: (most of the digital supplies are from the Daily Digi subscription I have. Best investment for high quality digital supplies, I tell ya.)

And as a special treat for you guys – I have uploaded the template for the two pages above to my 4shared account (Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus templates) for you to download!

Five on Friday: Things I’m Loving Right Now

I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things with you – things that just make me happy these days.

  1. My Tervis Tumblers –image

I’m loving them – loving the fact that they keep hot things hot (like my mocha protein shakes in the mornings) and cold things cold (like my fruit smoothies and “sweet” tea)

I love the happy patterns I have, the durability, the “sippy cup” tops for when I’m mobile (or the kids have one to drink in)

They’re not cheap, but I use mine enough that I think I’m getting more than my money’s worth.  I use them every.single.day.

  2. Dry-roasted Edamame image

Oh, my. Have you tried these?
    Sooo, sooo, good.

It’s like a cross between popcorn and roasted peanuts in terms of flavor (and addictive qualities)

They have 13g of protein per 1/4 cup serving – and it is hard to eat only 1/4 cup, trust me!

It helps satisfy my salty-snack cravings while getting some protein in my day.

  3. Beatrice
But you already know I love her.  I spend so much time these days with her. I take her everywhere I go.  She’s become my bestest friend.
But don’t tell her I’m trying to figure out how I can sneak one of these into my budget this summer: image  I wouldn’t want her to find out and get jealous of her cousin’s hold on my heart.
  4. The Daily Digi’s monthly membership

What a great deal!  You get over $50 worth of digital scrapbooking products for a monthly membership fee of $7.50. That is awesome.  But they don’t usually stop there… almost every month I’ve gotten an email with some type of members-only special. (love that!)

And all of the products are beautiful, top-quality originals. I am hardly ever disappointed and I use almost every single kit I receive.imageAdditionally, members get this kit, just for signing up. How cool is that?

  5. My calendar

Well, actually, it’s called “My Book” and is an adaptable planner.
imageI love it because of two things… the fact that it’s tiny enough to fit in my purse (and not too heavy – I have the small size) but mostly I love it because I can customize it to my tastes.  I decorated the slip-in cover with scrapbook papers that made me happy and then added 4×6 photos in the page protectors (there is a page protector/photo page at the beginning of each month) so I am carrying around all my favorite pictures of my family.

When I get tired of the photos, or the decorations on the cover, it’s a simple task to swap them out and put new things in. Us short-attention-span girls LOVE that.

There’s also plenty of room for me to track our family activities and even put a little note about the day if I choose.

What about you?

What things are you loving these days?
