Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… overcast skies, falling leaves and little birdies fattening up for the winter
I am thinking…of all the things on my “to-do” list versus “want-to-do” list and which will get done today.
I am thankful for…spending the day with my girls on their school holiday
From the kitchen… meatloaf with roasted vegetables
I am wearing…PJs that are soft, comfy and snuggly
I am going…grocery shopping today
I am reading…The Venetian Betrayal
I am hoping…to find some time to be creative today – baking, knitting, or scrapbooking. It is good for my soul.
I am hearing…my baby girl singing (off key) Michael Jackson’s “You are Not Alone”
Around the house…cats are sleeping, kids are playing, dogs are romping
One of my favorite things…my morning cup of tea
A few plans for the rest of the week… ballet, jazz, girl scouts, knitting class
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…

Simple Woman’s Daybook, 30-June

Closing out June with a Daybook entry.  You can add yours, too, by hopping over to The Simple Woman’s Daybook and leaving your link.

Outside my window… our flag blows in the breeze as it hangs from our front porch.  Everything is green and renewed after the recent rainstorms we have had.

I am thinking… about what to do this weekend. SuperMan has a four-day weekend. I am considering taking Friday off work as well, but would like to have something fun planned if I’m going to take the day off.

I am thankful for… my girls and the fact that they play so nicely together (most of the time) while I am working. I enjoy having them with me this summer and am so grateful for being able to work from home.

From the kitchen…SuperMan is planning kabobs on the grill tonight. I made cookies for the girls today.

I am wearing… one of only two pairs of pants that still fits me and my current favorite shirt.

I am creating… nothing right now. I have the desire, but not the gumption.

I am going…to take the girls to the fireworks on Friday night (unless we come up with some better plans)

I am reading…Eat, Pray, Love

I am hoping…that my mom and stepdad stop by for a visit while they are “up north”

I am hearing… my girls playing in the living room. I think they have turned it into a “gym” and are doing exercises together.

One of my favorite things…chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven.

Simple Woman’s Daybook

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Daybook entry, but I love reading other people’s. I think I am going to try to start that habit again.

Outside my window… It’s overcast and cool. The puppies are lounging on the driveway waiting to bark at something, anything. My cul-de-sac is filled with extra cars from the neighbor’s teen son’s sleepover last night.

I am thinking … of the list of things I have to do today. Wondering which one I should tackle first.

I am thankful for… the “friendsitter” who is over at the house to play with the girls today. I should be able to tackle that to-do list easily.

From the learning rooms… I have two online digital scrapbooking classes going right now. One is about Photoshop Elements basics. The other is called a Baker’s Dozen. Haven’t had the time to do anything with them in the last two weeks, though.

From the kitchen… I made homemade tropical banana bread this morning. I had some over-ripe bananas and thought I’d whip something up. This should be interesting because I substituted whole wheat flour for the white flour the recipe calls for – and oil for the shortening – AND I added coconut and coconut extract. I am anxious to try it as soon as it cools.

I am wearing… a pair of capris in a size I never thought I’d wear again and my current favorite t-shirt.

I am creating … lots of ideas and very little finished projects these days.

I am hoping… that I find some time to do some crafting this week. I have the itch and not the time.

I am reading… The Boticelli Secret by Marina Fiorato. Enjoying the story so far.

The Botticelli Secret

Around the house… lots of decluttering projects that need to be finished – and things that need to be taken to consignment or the Goodwill.

Plans for the rest of the week… work, work, work… and hopefully some crafting time and maybe a few hours at the pool with the munchkins.

I am thankful for…my husband.

From the kitchen…Pork chops for dinner tonight.   BBQ is on my mind, though.

I am hearing…the washer and dryer running.

Pondering these words… Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Prov. 3:5-6
